I really miss my 4Runner. I loved my truck, I spent a lot of time, effort and money making it just the way I wanted it. Don't get me wrong the 80 is sweet - but it just doesn't feel like it's mine. I feel like I'm driving A.J.'s truck

Old runner just felt like that comfortable pair of jeans or the robe you wear in winter feel to it. I would smile when I walked up to in a parking lot, my kids loved it - it was a "work in progress" that I really thought would go on for a long time. I really thought I would have it for so much longer than really worked out. I guess I don't really have anything to offer with this post other than a final toast:cheers: to her.

Just venting I guess - any of you guys have a special vehicle you had to see disappear?

u will embrace the 80 by spring grasshopper.

Yup, you should see my grotto.

You think you're sad now.... Need I remind you that your grotto was in the back of that 4runner too?

Good call Jeremy, way to kick a man when he's down.

Spent some more time in the new ride today - it's growing on me. No Todd, not the way the angry inch grows with cheetos and porn - but still growing none the less.

You will soon get past the "driving someone elses rig" thing
I felt the same way withe the ex-Steffy mobile
Soon as you do some things to it to make it your own, it will feel better

Got any pics of you in that robe?

I'm just sayin

Right now all you need is a set of sliders and a hitch. You'll feel a whole lot more secure wheeling it and you'll be able to tow your camper. Give it time, and I could be wrong, but I think you just might like it. Ask me how I know.

I remember when I traded Tony's first gen for Joe Zs 80, something just didnt feel right. Joe's 80 was comfy but Tonys first gen just felt cozy. I really never got use to driving the 80. When I pick up my 3rd gen, I felt right back at home.

Or maybe I felt right back at home cause having Tonys first gen for a month, 3.0 blew the HG hence the 3.4, and after having the 3rd gen for a month, I find that the trans was milkshaked but the 80 never gave me any trouble.

:meh:

move evidence to mini superiority.

I know what you mean. After my 5th 4runner since I was 16, having never really owned anything else, I decided sports cars looked like fun. Once I picked up a 300zx, I couldnt get back into a 4runner fast enough!! They are like my happy place, some day Ill lay on a couch about that...

But the 80 will be much easier to get used to than a 300zx. Plus like Tony said once you make it your own you will feel better.

How bout this.....I love my 40, I don't miss my 62 but I still really want a 60.
I just do....

I miss all 3 of my mini's, there was just something about them that i loved. The simplicity, and the cozyness. I cant speak for second or third gens, but my 80's 22r/re powered rigs were great. I LOVED my '85 4runner, but I will admit that i am having a blast with the FZJ-80. I dont know if it is actually the 80 that I love, or just that I am back driving my rig everywhere. That was what I had missed the most. Would I give the 80 up for another 4-runner, no way. If something happened to the 80 though, I would be hard pressed not to go back.
