Pretty high price for a 2000. No service history showing in Toyota.com.....

I'd inspect it with a fine toothed comb and demand full service history (including proof of 90k service) before even considering it further.

Ya that seems pretty high for a 2000 and those miles. I'd definitely look into it more before committing in any way. To help with your inspection give this a read, or print and take it with you: http://www.sleeoffroad.com/newbie/newbieUZJ100.htm

depending on your location that price may be accurate in my opinion. with that being said having a cruiser with accurate service history would be the most important. 90k service and routine service in general would weigh my decision one way or another. that particular one does have the best color and the paint and interior look really nice.

I just bought a 2000 LC this summer for 14,500. 110k miles, with timing belt/water pump done. It was in pristine condition ( my grandpa owned it)

It does seem a little high, but that is their asking price. With that being a dealer you can go ahead and count on them working with you on the price. Look at KBB.com and find out the trade in value. That should give you an idea on what they have in it and where to start negotiations. Not saying that you should start at trade in value, but that gives you an idea on where they can make some money and where you feel comfortable. IMO.

thanks for the responses! it'll really help me with this decision…
i am based in DFW TX so pricing maybe right

I do not think that price is bad at all. Especially as that is asking. While some have paid less, the majority of owners have paid a good bit more than that.

He's too high on his price.

Here's why I say that. On the classified section there is a 2005 that is going for 16 and some change. (White, in Southlake, Tx) And I think that's negotiable. In fact, it's all negotiable, but that's a story for another time.

But this seller is asking $14,950 for a vehicle that's got similar miles but is 5 years older. And they are both within 20 miles of one another. One of them is mispriced. Either the 2005 is incredibly low or this is too expensive. Probably a bit of both.

If you really want this, show the seller the price of the white 2005 in the classifieds here and tell him to drop his price to 12-13.

There isn't a bad outcome here. Both vehicles are good value.

But I think I would see if the 2005 would negotiate a bit and probably go that direction. If not, tell him to drop his price to a range between 12-13.

IT's all negotiable...

seems high to me too. I am also suspicious that they do not have any interior shots of the front seats - repairs may be needed on driver's seat due to age and miles. I'd be looking at 11,000 - 12,000, I'd likely give an offer in that range leave a card and walk away. You may get a call in a week or so from the dealer to make a deal. I suspect they paid 7-9M for it in trade in - so they have room to negotiate.
