contrary to what cruiserdan says, he's not the one that curses rigs...apparently it's me, but i'm young and don't understand my powers well enough to be able to control them. now, i'm in full curse mode on my own rigs

first the whole 60 incident (see my post in the 60 section if you don't know), now, i found a suspicious puddle under my rig, but it was mostly dry and the wet parts were oil, so we became convinced that it must've been an old puddle i ddin't notice when i parked there.

nope. it was a mix of the crap off the outside of my motor, the undercoating on the firewall, and gasoline.

put 5 gallons in before i left loveland. around 140th, i noticed i was on "e". thought that was odd, but i was running good and fast and i do get crappy mileage when the secondary's open, but when i say i was on 'e', i was on "e" exited at 132 and limped, engine stumbling along on a side road to a station at 124th. put another 5 gallons in. popped the hood to see if i could find anything in the bright lights of the station and noticed a swelled, wet hose at the filter. no biggie, unscrew it, cut the end off screw it back on. except the gas station has no tools. search frantically for tools, they're in the 60....duct tape...in the 60. 5 gallons, i should be able to get home. fire it up, and realize 5 gallons is barely enough to get the needle from well below "e" to above "e", so stop again at a station at I-25 and 120th. put another $15 bucks in. ask them if they have a screwdriver and a knife....nope.

ask them if there is any place that's open that they can think of that would have a screwdriver and a knife. nope. right then, without saying a word, a knight in shining jeans hands me his sword...actually, it was a leatherman which works much better.

unscrewed the clamp, cut off the end, go to screw it on, and realize my glass filter is loose. try to tighten it and the threads are stripped  my god! will this ever end. pull it completely apart, ram the threaded rod into the bad end and screw it in backwards...holds. put the hose back on and tighten the clamp. barely went through any fuel on the way home. :)

guess i'll be replacing every hose on every vehicle in the next few months. :frown:
