I'm about to buy BFG AT's (Where and what size) 31x10.5 or 32X11.5?

I read on this board somewhere that BFG has discontinued the 33X9.5. I have them on my stock 60 and really like them. I have never had any rubbing although I do not do stuff that requires a lot of flex. The AT KO in 9.5 is good in snow. The 33 inch size really does improve highway cruising, PROVIDED it is on flatter ground. If you need to climb long hills you will find yourself switching between 3rd and 4th at aroung 45 MPH. I am getting about 16MPG but its a fresh motor with a Jim C. carb. Still, I would attribute some of the mileage to the rubber overdrive. Sometime this winter I intend to drop my gearing to 4.11 in future anticipation of a 5 speed.

I saw that too and my tyre shop says BS ,its because of shortage of rubber or oil ,I cant remember which.

I think I am going to bite on some 33x9.5's and am looking for other pics of them on stock suspension rigs, can anyone else help?

Send a PM to Landpimp ,he has some 33x9.5 on one of his 60s;)

I just put 31's on my stock rig and feel 33's would look and feel better but would dog a little on the hills.

check craigslist if it's kicking in your area. I bought a set of 4 with only 100 miles on them for $135 total. Lucky but it happens. I just posted an add of what I was looking for. Got all kinds of offers!!!

yeah, i'm in the exact same boat. stock setup 60 with 31's. i hope with larger diameter tires i will get better gas mileage due to lower rpm. Our 60's are geared pretty low anyways so anything better than 12-13 mpg would be great! i was told i might be able to go 33x10.5 on stock suspension?

i have a stock suspension and run 33 x 9.50s...you might check out the pictures in my sig line.

lunyou

My 87 had 31 x 10.5 when I bought it and I replaced them with 32 x 11.5 BFG TA. The difference was subtle but sweet. It gives the truck a slightly more agressive stance.

My reasons were entirely cosmetic. I can't imagine that there would be any real performance advantage in increasing tire height and width one inch.

I haven't noticed any problems with excessive or uneven tire wear, but they do throw more gravel than the old tires. The old ones were Yokohama with a tighter tread pattern.
