I don’t have a 250 and won’t be getting one because I don’t have room for another truck. Everybody loves their own truck the best so I love mine the best. But I will say that every time I see a 250 driving down the road or parked somewhere, I think that’s a great looking truck. Today I was at a red light near a nori green GX. Pretty damn sweet.
 
soooo, how about those 250s and GXs and stuff from actual owners?
I'm really enjoying my 250. It reminds me a lot of my old 100 series but with all the benefits of a newer vehicle. The 360 camera is incredibly crissp and I use it whhaay more than I expected. The seats are extremely comfortable and the driver's layout feels really well thought out. I love how all the buttons are physical especially the AC controls I can't stand vechiles with though screen Ac controls. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the digital rearview mirror, but I’ve been appreciating it more and more. The inverter is icing on the cake In a pinch I can power up my batteries in a black out and keep the freezer going etc the ability of using the Crusier as a generator anywhere I roam is a extremely useful tool.

Also I heard the LX 700h the top trim Lexus uses the exact same 2400W inverter that our 250s have. That really speaks to how much Toyota values it across their lineup. MPG is also a huge improvement over my 100 series. Overall I’m very satisfied. Would I choose it over any other LC? you bet. Well done Toyota.

I love my LC250. I had a 96' LX450 that I heavily modified and kept as my primary vehicle from 2016-2024. The new Cruiser feels more similar in size to my old 80 than our LX570 did. We ended up trading in my wife's 5th Gen 4Runner for the 24' Cruiser and found it to be way better in pretty much every category than our 4Runner. I ended up deciding to keep the Cruiser for myself and couldn't be happier. Love the Hybrid 2.4L. The gobs of torque made any power loss associated with going up to 35's invisible. Yes I lost a little MPG but who cares. Now it gets the same MPG as my 21'GX460. People complain about range but my LX450 got 200 miles till the low fuel light came on. My GX460 and my last LX570 had ranges of just around 300-350 miles before you'd start getting close to E and the light on too. The tech is great in some areas and the bothersome nannies just needed a Carista app touch to keep quiet.

You have to look at this as a modern 60 series. They designed it to look reminiscent of one both inside and out. They succeeded. If you take that into account, the more spartan features of the LC 250 make sense. If you look to the 250 as the successor to the 200 (since we don’t have the 300 here) you will be disappointed. If you think modern 60 when evaluating the 250, you will come away smiling!


There are definitely some electronic do-dads I have disabled, and I’m scouring the owners manual for ways to ditch a few more. Overall, once I get the idiotic running boards off, real tires on it and the 2” F&R lift in it, I think it will be great!

Based on your sig, I don't think you have enough first hand real LC experience to know what you're talking about. ;)

Fixed it for you!

I told the sales manager I deal with when we picked ours up that this was “35 years in the making” since we have not seen a new Land Cruiser in Canadian dealers since 1989. Unless you count Lexus, but I don’t consider those “real” Land Cuisers (let the hysterics begin!). We DID have diesel 40s and 60s from 1980 to 1989 and I was driving in 1986, but as a 16 year old, I was super fortunate to have a Desert Rat modified 1981 Toyota 4x4 pickup as my first vehicle in highschool. But there is no way I was affording a new Land Cruiser.

I own several 40s and a couple of 100s. When I drove a 200 it felt big and bloated so I passed on it. Yesterday, I went to drive the new Land Cruiser for the first time, and I was quite impressed with how well it drove. I was prepared to not like it, and almost immediately I liked it. Yes, at times it sounded like the four-cylinder that it is, but the torque made up for it. I am now seriously considering the purchase of a new Toyota Land Cruiser, and selling my old one. As much as I like my 100, it is a 20 year old truck with 276,000 miles. Yea, it will continue to run but not without its bumps and clunks. I spent $3000 redoing the entire suspension and it still has the clunk! I think all the negativity that’s posted on this forum is by people that are either old fashion or hardheaded and stuck on all the old stuff. Time to move on to a the era and accept what we have. If it was 100% EV I wouldn’t give it a thought with regards to making a purchase. Sure I might rather have a V6, but I’m not going to spend the money Lexus is asking, plus I prefer the Land Cruiser branding and lifestyle.

you can buy a auto shutoff disabler, i bought one for my 2024 tundra and it works flawlessly and no more shutoff BS that's hard on the starter, oiling, battery etc

IMHO the only way Toyotas power train that is in the 250 could be better is if it was a plug in hybrid with a true 50 mile EV range .
I could drive it 90% of the time all electric and have the flexibility of longer range travel.
That being said I have just under 500 miles on the odometer. And I love it. ALL of it.
19.7 mpg. 350 mile road trip this coming weekend .
