A week ago I added a 2025 premium addition to the fleet. 300 miles in the first week is disappointing, however, I can’t neglect the others (6) that are in the driveway. Taking some getting use to because it’s definitely not my like my 200, however, it’s not like any of my 40’s /62’s,/80 or 100 either! Think I’m gonna like it??

Question! What if any are people using for a screen protector? Thanks

Can’t love a 4 banger with horrific NVH. Might as well drive a Chevy Spark.

so are you telling me you purchased one and don’t love it? I don’t believe I would own a Chevy Spark which is why I probably wouldn’t go to a message board about them.

I just hope you did not trade in your 200 on it, because that would sting.
Nope. It is a 2014 that is paid off and resisted trading it in for $35,000. Someone who drives I don’t know maybe a Chevy spark may not understand why I didn’t make that trade, however, I believe you will understand. Lol

Hey now - the Spark is probably well balanced. Overland AF too!

Ufff...you dodged that bullet. I most definitely understand, especially after I sat in a Prado 250 for 5 mins waiting for the oil and filter change in my 200. God awful thing does not compare to the quality on my wife's 5th gen 4runner, let alone a 200.

I can only imagine the frustration of the Japanese workers assembling these, after having worked so many years on the 200-build quality.

My wife also has a 5th generation 4runner (SR5 premium); we like it, but I certainly think that my base 1958 model is an upgrade over it... much less a higher level LC trim 🤷🏻‍♂️

for starters the onboard nanny is unbearable and cannot be exorcised from the vehicle
Have you reviewed the manual regarding turning those features off? I do believe most of them can be.

I don’t disagree that they can occasionally be a bit annoying. For now, I have decide to leave them on and see if I get used to them. If they save me from 1 fender bender, I will be glad I did.

A friend has one and is struggling with the nanny and disabling a lot of it in a permanent manner

Dont even get me started on the vehicle monitoring where you are looking....especially in combination with toyota/lexus policy on data collection and lack of privacy

How does the vehicle monitor where you are looking.:: particularly when you are wearing sunglasses?

Sounds like general, new car complaints

Many/Not all 2024 MY vehicles are that way

2024 G54R doesnt have the nonsense evil nanny, not sure about the most plush packages but SR5 Premium is still sane

Isn't it just the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 nannying system?

Even a 2024 MY Gen 5 4Runner is probably still a couple generations behind and not running TSS 3.0. Which isn't that surprising, everything about that vehicle is pretty outdated at this point.

I find that overall TSS 3.0 is works well for my drives once I disabled predictive driving assist and turned off the driver monitor function. Predictive driving assist drives like my nervous grandmother did with constant noises and unexpected slowing.
