Sometime in the past the PO took my LX to the dealer to have the ignition replaced, but they didn't change the door locks. As a result I have one set of keys to start the truck which also unlock the doors with the remote, and another set that I don't use that would be needed to physically unlock the doors. It's been working fine since I can't remember the last time I put a key in a door anyway, but out of curiosity, does anyone know if it would be possible to order the lock cylinders that match my ignition?

It would probably be easier to take the ignition cylinder to a locksmith, and have him match it to your door/hatch/glovebox keys, then swap the "guts" from your current keys to your door/hatch/glovebox keys

Removing the ignition cylinder is part of this repair:

I guess the question is 'how skilled are locksmiths'? Edit: Skilled isn't the right word there. I just don't know the limitations of the locks.

Can they modify an ignition cylinder to match a door lock? I wouldn't have thought so. I assume I'd need an identifying code that Toyota can use to supply door locks OR preferably the ignition cylinder, although I agree a locksmith service would be easier and cheaper. I just don't know the what they can do.

I have no personal experience with the Lexus key cylinder, but from my experience, working as a locksmith while a student in college, assuming that the pins/wafers are available, it should be fairly trivial to match the ignition lock cylinder to one of your existing door keys.

(The other caveat here, is that I am located in a rather large city where there are plenty of locksmiths to choose from.)

A quick Internet search yielded this result:

Which would seem to indicate that the parts are available to rekey a Lexus ignition lock cylinder.
