So... I am planning on upgrading all the speakers in my 2005 LC next week... so all door panels coming off.... my drivers side actuator doesn't work. I bought 5 new motor's for the actuator's from Jon Harris which just arrived for $7.00 each (thanks Jon!).

I read the all the actuator threads and am aware I have to put them in the oven, crack em open, replace motor and re-glue...

My question is, do I want to do that now for the other three doors and read hatch that currently work since I will have all the panels off or do I want to go with the old wisdom, if it aint broke don't fix it? What does mud wisdom say?

Thanks....Scotty

Having just done one a week or so ago, I'd say do them all. Once you have the panels off, and figure out how to the actuator assembly out, it will go quick. I wish I would have gone and done my DS door, because it is nearly 100% failed. It'll take me just as long to remember how to do it again!

I see no reason to do them all if they are working. What would the purpose be? Everything will fail eventually.....if that's the logic then you might as well just replace everything piece by piece.

Instead of baking the clamshell to soften the glue, I found it easier to just use a heat gun.

Thanks for the advice and the heat gun tip!

Is a "gear noise" while rolling down ds window mean I need some, too?
Regarding "gear noise" when rolling down your window... the actuator we are speaking of here only has to do with the door locking and unlocking with the remote entry... you have a different issue and good luck with that
