Hi all.

Just joining this forum and looking for some advice now I’m diving into my 1998 Land Cruiser VXR.

I drove it around the Middle East the past couple years and have just imported to the United States. Now I have a workshop I’m looking to dive into issues I’ve ignored long enough or crept up from sitting.

First is this idle issue.

Much worse now it’s sat for awhile. Had to give it some gas to idle just the first couple of times. Now this video is without any throttle input. Any ideas?

Thanks all!

New air filter, clean the throttle body too. Check vacuum hoses for cracks/leaks. That's all pretty simple, relatively cheap stuff. Unhook battery while you do the cleaning.

Throw a can of BG44K in the tank and give it ole italian tune up.

Actually it might have worked. I let it idle for about 15 minutes reading it might have to relearn the mappings. Seems to be a lot smoother not. Could be because its also heated up now so will try it over the next couple of days but progress I think
