Another Oscar winner Jake!
I thought you had some MaxTrax.
It's great to be able to use some of the "toys" (air compressor and whatever else) we bolt onto our rigs especially when the wife is around to see how great it works and how it justifies all the money time and labor put into it. My wife is always amazed at some of the cool things my rig has on it and can do when we're out on the trail and camping!
Also, are lockers and winch on the hit list anytime in the future?

Thanks, buddy. Max Trax definitely would have been good to have on-hand but I'm not know for my forethought. I'll probably get a set of the knock offs at some point.

I think I'd like a winch but in a stealth set-up. I don't think I'll ever need a front bumper, I just don't rock crawl enough. I doubt lockers. I hope I'm never in a situation that requires lockers for extrication. If it can't get out with the center locked and A-trac I probably shouldn't have been there in the first place : )

PLEASE look at reviews before you even think about purchasing any MaxTrax wannabes!
I purposely purchased MaxTrax after doing thorough research.
Some of the knock-offs, if they work, come close but will not last.

I'm going to support Richards statements here, and my name's Jake too, so you can trust me.

There's some definite junk knockoffs out there, so bad that they're only good for a false sense of security. Their teeth burn right off and it's just a slick plastic board after that.

There are some decent alternative to MaxTrax, most worth the time aren't much cheaper than MaxTrax. To be fair, I have heard some stories of people having issues with the MaxTrax warranty when one does get ruined, but seemingly minimally.

Knowing you some from your videos, you'll probably want to buy the budget ones and modify them to improve them...seems like what you enjoy doing and make content about, so I get it. My opinion, though, is to skip the winch if you don't wheel like that and instead buy 4 good MaxTrax and be sure to have recovery straps (maybe a $60 kinetic and $30 static) and good recovery points. That combo will probably give you the best bang-for-buck for basic light off roading recovery.

Now if you just want a winch for video content and such, then of course they come in handy, but if you really just want a good, cheap self recovery option, Trax and some straps will handle most things you get into, if you're not being too wild.

I have some Tred Pros (ARB has rebranded them)

but also have some GO Treads

The Go Treads fold up really compact... if you go that route make sure you purchase the version that can be used with a semi. They have military contracts and are made in the US. Their warranty basically is.. you broke it... and they will replace no problem

how do you like the go treads? I might get them and put it in my commuter car. There’s only two options on their website (mototread and gotread). The go tread is the right one, or is there another option?

The MotoTreads are plenty fine for cars... I have a set of those in both my G35x and CX-5. Bigger rigs go with the GoTreads
