I am running a stock 2008 and would like to upgrade the tires. I plan to get a lift in the future but have to save up a bit, for now I need new tires. Should I jump up one size or keep the stock size with a more aggressive pattern? Taller tire maybe for more height? Offroad driving will consist of beach driving and muddy forest roads. I haven't driven the Sequoia on the beach yet because the sand is deep and I feel like she doesn't have enough height. I'm probably just being paranoid. Thoughts.

37’s.

But you’ll need 6“ of lift......

I’m working on better flex, cause tires alone with leaf spring rear is es no bueno. Muey no bueno.

Srsly - I’d get your lift squared away, then buy donuts - unless you pound pavement to the point you’ll eat this set prior to any lift you install.

Are you a Sequoia with the IRS or a Tundra / RR leafs?

I envy the Sequoia for the IRS & the better TC / lockable options over the Tundra - a Sequoia box will land in my powertrain in the horizon, once I get Icon on all 4 corners to handle some better flex.

I have the IRS. My Sequoia is mostly an around town driver, we just got it less than 6 months ago. Since this coronavirus crap came about we haven't been able to take it on a long drive and adventure. It's a 2008 with almost 50k miles and hopefully I will have it for long time

If you have 4wd, you'll be fine at the beach, even in the soft fluffy stuff. Lock the center and turn off traction control. Plenty of ground clearance and that 4wd keeps you moving.

Don’t forget to air down as well.
