xrock's "Garage Sale" got me thinking... how about a club-sponsored cruiser/toyota 4x4 "show-n-shine" along with a swap meet? Not sure where (Scottsdale Pavilions?) on a Saturday morning or something. Give us an excuse to wash the trail rigs, bench race, swap some parts, spread the gospel about responsible wheeling to the unwashed, whatever.

Thoughts?

OK, but you asked for it!;p

We do a "show-n-shine" once a month at sonic, we need less shine and more trail!;p

How about having a couple of the sonics meets a year be swap meets?

the only thing gained by doing something at the pavilions or similar is showing the rigs to non cruiser crowds. been there done that. any swap meeting could be done at sonic if we all set a date for it and brought our junk, but really, with the interweb its kind of redundant IMO. i mean something could be advertised or asked for and then just those things would need to be drug out for trade, sale whatever. otherwise we'll be draggin alot of stuff back home. no ??

wellll.... one of the CA TLCA clubs hosts a swap meet / show / club meet that's pretty successful, AFAIK they've only been doing it for 10 years or so.

But if no one wants to do it, that's fine, whatever.

Dig the Avatar Mark ;)

I think that a "swap" at the Sonic meets would be fine for us for now. Maybe in a couple of years we could put together and host a LC SWAP once a year or so. But, if'n you got stuff you need gone just let us know Mark. I'd be more than happy to take a trip up to you place for a day of diggin through boxes and drinkin beers.

Great! We (Sean, owns my old '40, painted green  ) and I have a bunch of stuff. Transfer cases, a good running F engine/speed/xfer combo (hear it run! Drive it even!), some body parts, running boards, etc... We are planning to catalog and make a list this week.

Oh and it's Marc... you know, with a C... the proper way...

s*** man sorry about the spelling thing. I've lived my whole life having my name misspelled too. It's spelled Brand-E-n like it sounds not Brand-O-n. Won't happen again.

No worries. And note to self on your name as well. Sorry 'bout that...

I was cursed with a first and last name that's both hard to spell AND pronounce. You have no idea how many different combinations of S-A-H-R there can be. Plus, how hard is it to pronounce "sahr" anyway? ;) C'mon it's "Sahr"...

well i would pronounce it "sar", like "tar" or "car" or "far". am i wrong??

oh and mar"C",, i wasnt meaning to rain on your swap meet idea, i think its a great idea, but we need to get the word out in advance so folks can gather what they want to sell/trade/barter. also a few of us have trailers but i dont think most of the guys have a means to bring alot of stuff out, maybe a box or two of misc parts in the back of a rig is about all.

i fully support a swap meet, but i hope more than 3 of us will participate.

Correct on the pronunciation sir!

The swap meet idea was just that... an idea, I'm not married to it or anything (whew!)
