Icon shocks vs. OME (1 Viewer)

I have the stage I's on a built 100. OME bars and 860 springs. I am running SPC UCA's and no drawers. I don't see a need for remote res. for what I typically do and didn't care to hassle with mounting reservoirs. I came from the OME shocks and thought they were stiff. The icons are much smoother. An improvement on pavement and the way they react to bumps at speed is nice. I do not have issue with over extension or stressing the CV axles with this setup. If I want more travel I drop the tire pressure.
IMO you don't need extra travel or remote reservoirs but if adjustability is wanted that's something. And if your tearing ass through the desert cooling could be an issue.
I dive slow and take in the views of God's creation.

I'm about to have the same set up but with 866 springs. Do you have diff drop on yours?

I do not have a diff drop.

I run the Icon's with external resi's / CDCV's on all four corners and its a blast to drive. You dial it in to meet your needs and or preference from day to day. I don't regret spending the money at all - in fact I'm happy I did. This setup takes my almost 6000 lbs rig and allows me options of driving styles without sacrifice. It's bitchin'
save your coin and splurge for yourself - you deserve it.

I spoke to Slee today, I'm going to have them install the Stage 3s, just got to set up an appointment. Thanks!

the icons a great. I love them. Imo they are a bit stiff for a lightly loaded ride and DD duties, but out in the dez they kick butt. Rebuild costs are on the their web page.

I have the 2.5 reservoir shocks up front.

Ok, well I went ahead and ponied up the $$$ and bought the Stage III's and UCA's from Just Differentials. Price delivered was about $3,200 (oo-ey, ouch!). Planning an install "party" with my brother and a few buddies in early December as I'm outta town the next 3 weekends. Man, those rears are beefy buggers! Will post pics when we do the install.

@Kofoed did you use after market upper control arms?

I went with SPC control arms, they were on sale at Metal TEchs Black Friday sale. In hind sight, I would do the Nitro arms with the greaseable bushings, and replaceable, non-proprietary ball joint.

Anyone have any issues with the rear OME 865 springs being loose when lifted with stage I rear Icons?
