I put in 32oz of lucas synthetic oil stabilizer...and the 1 5qt jug of mobil 1 and then I think all but 1 to 1.5 qts of a second 5qt jug. Do I need to drain some out?

Where is it on the dipstick? I does sound like it's too full, should be around 8 qts IIRC. Too much oil can be a bad thing if the counterweights are splashing with every turn. It can cost MPG and end up with foamy oil. Just drain some down and top off as required.

Why the need for the oil stabilizer anyway? Is it a long term storage vehicle? I can't imagine Mobile 1 needing any help. And it's expensive enough as it is.

My MY2000 manual shows a capacity of 7.2Q. (Edited for accuracy)

Lucas...over kill... will drain shortly. The darn oil is so clean I couldnt see where it was at first. I had about 2 qts to much in it

Use a new sealing washer on the drain plug.

My 2001 takes 7.5qt. dead-on, I use a slightly longer filter (M209-1) than stock.

As was posted above, don't add stabilizer or any other crap to your oil.

The easiest thing to do is pour in the amount in the owners manual, check the stick, run the vehicle for a bit, turn it off and let it sit for a bit, then check stick again. Adjust as needed and then write down how many quarts you put in in your manual or maintenance log. Then you are all set for next time and the time after, etc.
