Today I went to my neighborhood Toyota dealer where they had just received a brand spanking new 200 in their showroom.

Although I was a bit embarrassed I was determined to take some real life pictures for you guys.:hillbilly:

Pic 1: Obligatory picture (Today's models:D)

Pic 2: Front facia; Not bad from this angle!

Pic 3: Crawling under

Display

Pic 1: The history of Land Cruisers display thingy found in the showroom
Shows you how Toyota feels about the 70/90, etc... series.:flipoff2:

Pic 2: Non-removable 3rd-row seats.
According to the sales guy Toyota went with this design because of the feedback they received from the 100 owners, stating that they did not remove the 3rd-row seats from their rig. At least they should've given them the ability to slide rearward. (More on that later).

Pic 3: 3rd-row, middle occupant's shoulder seatbelt stowed in the headliner.

Pic 1: Shifter area with the "crawl" knob and the nice heated seat dials.

Pic 2: Close up

Pic 3: Push button start, H4-L4 button, CDL, VSC(?) and the front camera button??? (I shouda asked:doh:)

Front passenger leg room tourture thingy

Pic 1: Seat slid back all the way (I'm 5'8.5" on a good day: It's critical to have the extra .5":D)

Pic 2: Seat pushed up all the way (I had to angle my legs)

As usual, the power seats operate WAY too slow for anybody who's younger than 75)

Now let's take a break with something positive:

Pic 1: What you homies(sp) have been waiting for, the center cool box (or cool center console box:hillbilly:)

Pic 2: Sticker one ("Keep the lid of the cooler box while the vehicle is moving. Failure to observe this instruction could cause death or serious injury.") That's not exactly how it says in Japanese.

Pic 2: Sticker two

Now the 2nd-row passenger leg room stuff

Pic 1: Front passenger seat pushed back all the way

Pic 2: Plenty of knee room for me, but I'm not that tall.

Pic 3: It does recline though.

All that plastic made me a little nauseated though.:D

Pic 1: Rear passenger control

Pic 2: 2nd-row seat does not flip up completely/vertically if you have the front passenger seat slid back all the way. But the seat did flip up w/o much effort.
However, the side/reclining handle which made the seat flip up was a tad hard to access, especially from the 3rd-row occupant's position. (Maybe there was another option to do make it happen).

Pic 3: Plenty of leg room this way. But I have a feeling that I probably missed seeing another sticker that says that "By not having the 2nd-row seat securely latched onto the floor it could result in another death or a serious injury"

By this time I could already tell how much/little room there was going to be as a 3rd-row occupant.

Pic 1: Latched in (Toes under the seat)

Pic 2: Voila!

Pic 3: Close up
The 2nd-row seat had a lot more knee space (1.5 knuckles, easy), but the 3rd row was hardly a one knuckler, not to mention in the reduction in the head room.

Pic 1: Tether anchor hook thingy(?) in the back of the 2nd-row seats

At this point I had remembered that I had some models that I could use, so here ya go!:D

Pic 2: With the front passenger seat all the way forward. (The model is about the same height as the photographer, but she is longer legged:hillbilly:)

Pic 3: 'nother one, slid back all the way.

Those NonRemovable3rd row seats really piss me off !! At least give the owner the option to remove them !! That's plain idiotic on Toyotas part....:mad::mad:

For a 9 year old, it offers an ample amount of real estate though.

And finally...

Before I walked into the showroom or even when I first got a glance at the front of the vehicle I had a good feeling about it.

As I got closer and got inside the vehicle I was hit with the overwhelming feeling that it was big. I mean REALLY big! And it was even longer than it was bigger.

On the way back from the dealership I was talking to my wife and we both agreed that it is not a Land Cruiser, but Toyota is trying to use the "Land Cruiser" name to sell the new vehicle.

We continued onto say that we could totally imagine how doctors, lawyers (NTIAWWT:D) and soccer moms would be driving it, not knowing/appreciating the true heritage of what made Land Cruiser so great.

Just my ¥2.

Thanks for the pix Mot. When I see one at the local dealer, I will certainly go in and take a look at it.
