I'm trying to get the TEQ grille badges released for the LX470 but am getting a pile of conflicting info. I need to know how many grill options came on the LX470. The online parts catalogue I looked at showed the 98-02, the 03-05, and the 06-07 to all have different part numbers for the grilles. Other websites show the 98-05 to have the same part number and the 06-07 to be a different part #. One online store shows all years to have the same part number. What would really help me out is to find out what size the factory "L" badge is for the different years. Would also like to know how the badges are attached. I can cover the 03 since I own one. The 03 LX470 "L" is 5.5" x 3.75" and attaches with automotive adhesive only. No screws. What about the other years? I was able to make the TEQ badge for the 03 grill but don't want to release it until I am certain I have the facts right on what other options are out there for the LX470. That is really interesting. The 98-01 (possibly 02) have the exact same dimensions as the LX450 "L" badge. That badge also has the 3 screws on the back that appear to be in the exact same spot. I will cross reference the LX450 "L" grille badge OEM part # with the 98+ "L" badge and see if it matches. I'm guessing my current LX450 TEQ badge will work for the 98-01/02 grille. Is there anyone in Socal with this grille (98-02) that I can test fit on? That would be awesome if I already have the design developed and in stock. So I know the 03 has the larger badge. Who has an 02 that can chime in? I'm pretty sure the 06-07 is a different grille but I'm not sure if the factory "L" changed or not. Anyone with an 06 willing to measure there "L"?
Anyone with an 02 LX470 willing to post the dimensions of their factory grille badge? Also need the dimensions for an 05 and 06 or 07. I know the 06 and 07 match but I'm not sure if the 05 has the older version or the newer version. Same goes with the 02. I'm pretty sure the 02 has the same grille as the 98-01 but I'm not 100% sure. Some dimensions would answer that for me.
I've a grille sold to me as a fit for the 01 LX and factory installed 01 LX. Both are the same ~5 x 3.5 with three screws and guide pin. My 01 LC is the same. 00 - 02 are interchangeable by all accounts I've seen.
So I got some definitive answers from a Lexus parts guy. The grille badge from 98-02 is all the same. The 03-05 is the same as is what is pictured at the beginning. That product is done and ready to go. Then there is the 06-07 which is a 3rd grille option. I need the dimensions of the "L" emblem off of an 06 or 07 and would like to know how it attaches. I also need to figure out if the LX450 badge will fit on the 98-02 LX470. They are the same size and have the same 3 holes in what appears to be the exact same location. Anyone in Socal with a 98-02 LX470 willing to meet up with me for a couple minutes so I can do a test fit?
So I went ahead and ordered a grille emblem from a 2000. Found it on ebay. As soon as it's here I will compare it to the LX450 grill emblem I already have. Hopefully they will be a match. My focus now is to just get the height and width dimensions of the grille badge from an 06 or 07 LX470 grille. Anyone willing to get those dimensions and post them here?
Thanks for the dimensions? Are you 100% on the 6.25" width? The Toyota 06-07 counterpart has a factory grille emblem of 6 5/8" x 4 1/2". I was hopeful they would be the same size so I only have to modify the back side to match the "L" curvature.

That's pretty darn close to 6.25". Shoot. I was hopeful I would not have to do a complete redesign with an entirely new CNC jig. Can you tell how the factory grille emblem attaches? Looks like I am going to need the factory badge to pull dimensions off of. Whoever loans me their 06 or 07 "L" grille badge will get a free aluminum TEQ badge out of it. I will need the badge for 1-2 weeks to develop the new TEQ badge and then get it prototyped and perfected. I can ship your old badge and the new badge back at the same time.
Did you get measurements you're happy with? I can measure my '06 with calipers and post photos if you need. (or you can go to the nearest mall and find an LX parked there )

Well... I did get accurate measurements BUT they didn't make me happy. I was hopeful they would match the 06-07 yota grille but they didn't. I received the 98-02 factory "L" badge and it did bolt up to the 95-97 LX450 grille which means my LX450 badge WILL work on the 98-02 LX470 grille. I just shipped one out to a guy today with a 2000 LX470 so he can get some pics for me. I should have pics up on my website within a few days showing what the badge looks like on a 98-02 LX470. I now need access to an 06-07 grille or at least the factory "L" badge so I can get that badge made. Anyone willing to loan me your factory badge for a couple days to take measurements and get a prototype made?
