I have a big and huge front bumper with winch as TOY OEM plus a OEM tire carrier that looks heavy too. Plus a lot of other OEM equipment that will add weight. :doh:

Here my question:

How does the stock springs and shocks hold up all that weight? Okay I have adjustable OEM shocks but that will not help the coils. It is quite a lot of weight in this rig and fully loaded with all passengers I can't see any problems in height.

Do I have different coils and/or shocks??? I don't think so !!

The ride is great and thanks to the adjustable shocks I can run through corners in high speed without any body lean.

Christo, where would be then the advantage if I change to OME, maybe 2,5'' heavy setup ???

I run 275/75R16 that is around 32.2'' diameter and I plan to replace them with 295/75R16. It will give a bit of lift and looks very nice.

But I really wonder about the weight that the stock suspension carries in my case. As you can see in my sig-line my rig is fully loaded and it is running so great that I wonder sometimes about some threads refering to the LC80 as a lame SUV??? Mine is running like a rocket without a SC/Turbo.

Plus I don't see that the front is more down. My rig is on a nice level. :D

Are there any differences in the suspension worldwide? Maybe in Australia, Asia, Africa compared to the USA? To add more weight I still have the A442F Tranny with its higher weight compared to the 343 Tranny.

Maybe C&#039:Dan, Christo or some other friends can give me some inside information?? Thanks :cheers:

there are MANY OEM coil spring rates, even for different year US spec Cruisers. So yeah if your came with OEM winch ect, then the springs were prolly speced for it at the factory.

I can do some digging to see how many spring rates but it's quite a few.

So far I am up to over 10 different front springs for Japanese market 80's. appears the spring depends on the motor, trany combo, which makes sense, I can't tell if winch if different, I kinda think so but I can't figure out the codes. Still many other markets that prolly got yet different springs yet

for US fzj there are 3 different front springs
48131-6A470 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, LH 01.08.1992 - 01.11.1993 FZJ80;
48131-6A480 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, LH 01.11.1993 - 01.08.1994 FZJ80;
48131-6A490 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, LH 01.08.1994 - 01.01.1995 FZJ80;
48131-6A470 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, LH 01.01.1995 - 01.07.1995 FZJ80;
48131-6A490 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, LH 01.07.1995 - 01.01.1998 FZJ80;

interesting there are 2 for the right hand side
48131-6A460 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, RH 01.08.1992 - 01.01.1995 FZJ80;
48131-6A450 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, RH 01.01.1995 - 01.07.1995 FZJ80;
48131-6A460 01 SPRING, FRONT COIL, RH 01.07.1995 - 01.01.1998 FZJ80;

odd, on the jap spec 80's there wasn't a difference for right or left?

to be honest, thats as much as I'm gonna do......my interest is lacking ;)
