Hello everyone,

Just like the title says I just bought my first 100 series a few days ago and needless to say I'm pretty excited! This is my first 100 but not my first LC, I have a 40 that is in pieces right now as somehow a simple engine swap turned in to a full blow frame off resto! So while I've got some plans for the 100 I will have to wait till the 40 stops bleeding me dry. As for now I just plan on catching up on all the PM and making sure everything is 100% I'm sure I will need lots of help along the way so thanks in advance!

Congrats! Looks clean, enjoy!

Nice! I wouldn't wait too long on starting the 100 mods. Your statement: "I will have to wait until the 40 stops bleeding me dry." doesn't pass the laugh test. If your 40 restoration goes the way of others I'm familiar with, the bleeding doesn't stop until you get to the triage point and break out the tourniquets.

Creepy. Did you get it last Friday? Cause that's when I got mine and it is the same color....

From one newb to another, this place is awesome.

I actually did agree to buy it last Friday! This site is awesome with awesome people. I've been able to completely take apart and start rebuilding my 40 with the help from everyone on here!

Trust me there are days I feel like I need a tourniquet!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I wouldn't say creepy more like ...Wow, what a coincidence... just say'in ;)

Welcome! There seem to be quite a few 100s popping up in the Richmond area.

You got one in the best color!

Congrats! I just picked up my LC a few weeks ago too. 100 series as well (2006) and my
First LC. I cannot believe how much I already love this rig! Over 200k and it drives better than most cars/trucks I've ever driven...and that's a lot.

Cheers!

I love it so far! It will take me a little while to get used to it as I've been in a 3rd gen 4Runner for the past 8 years which was an awesome vehicle! Right now I'm just catching up on all the maintenance, the PO said he did it but I just want the peace of mind. Once I get everything done I want to do tires and maybe a small lift but nothing to crazy.

So now that I've gotten to drive the cruiser for a week I'm starting to get more of an idea of what it needs. One thing I need to do for sure is grease the drive shafts to try and get rid of the clunk. Plus I’m not sure the last time it was done so it’s a good thing to do anyways. After a good amount of reading it looks like the way to go is to over grease or at least until grease comes out of the seals. If I'm wrong on this someone please jump in and let me know.

I've also got a strange noise I'm hoping you guys can shed some light on. When is first start out driving in the morning I have a very faint noise coming from the passenger side wheel. It almost sounds like a brake pad is sticking as the car gets faster noise gets faster and goes away when the car is stopped. Once again this is only for the first few minutes of driving and then seems to go away and can only be heard when really listening for it.

Thanks Josh
