I have a temporary hack for driving faster than 20 mph in High Mode on a stock LX.

Somebody try this in a lx570!?

I just gave this a try in my 05 lx470 and no it did not stay in AHC high above 20. I will try again but maybe it only works with certain years

I just had another guy tell me the same thing and his is the same year as mine. I might have a unicorn.

I'll try this soon on my '04.
Do these drop to low position above certain highway speeds too? I read that somewhere when I first got mine and kinda forgot about it, don't recall it in the manual tho.

No joy for me. 2001 LX

No one else is able to replicate this, i think your truck has busted sensors newportfreak

Mine works fine under normal conditions it only stays in High Mode when I do the above. All other times it goes from High to Normal when I reach 20 mph.

Well then let's figure out which sensors we need to bust on ours!

Sounds like he might have a sensor or wire that isn't reporting the transition out of 4 lo, so the computer thinks the truck is still in lo? It sounds similar to the yellow wire mod I did on my 2010 Tacoma

This is one problem I won’t be fixing 😃

They drop slightly, but not full Low. This, as well as the Extra High are described in the Owner Manual.

Wow that's a good hack, I actually want to do the opposite, drive in Low mode so to get less wind resistance and help out MPG on long trips. I remember Kabastanva ACH blew and he was stuck in low, and he got an extra 3mpg for his trip.

I read that at freeway speed (60mph? Not sure.), the AHC actually lowers slightly to reduce wind resistance. Not quite as low as low mode, but somewhere in between low and normal. I’m sure somebody can confirm.

Awesome! As a programmer, I love when a missed test-case gets to production (when somebody else programmed it!) :]
And I am sure youre also not the least bit surprised it happens
