WANTED

I am looking for a Toyota FJ40 project. It does not have to be in great shape, but needs to be something that I can get back on the road.

I am looking for a father/son project for my 12 year old son. I am a teacher and I don't have a big budget, so that is why I am looking for a project. I can do metal and mechanic work, so a rough project with some rust is OK.

I can come pick it up with a trailer if it is within a reasonable distance from Atlanta GA (200-300 miles).

If you want to donate it for free, I can drive a little farther to pick it up :).

Send me pics of what you have and contact information.

Thank you!!

I am willing to come pick it up with a trailer.

Anyone have one or know of one????

There is one in NC that is a project. Check out eBay for t. He will take $1250 for it.

Hey Guys,

I have been talking to Sarge about his 1977 he has for sale. I know it has some rust but it is a good driver project. I am not afraid of the rust and think it would make a great project me me and my son. It is a long way from Atlanta GA, but I haven't found much in that price range in this area. He seems like a good guy and has been honest and clear about all the good and bad.

For Sale - 1977 FJ40 KCJA Northern Illinois 61349 - $8,500

Any thoughts or advice?

VV

Thanks Deklari! Those are great projects. I will check them out a little more. I think I have my heart set on Sarge's 1977. Any thoughts on that one?

VV
If you get a good deal from seller it will be nice project. As for me , I have see a better truck for 8.5K in the past.

Yes, this is a good one also, but I really want one with a 2F Toyota motor in it.

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!
If you buy any of these you are probably going to rebuild the engine anyway. So pulling out a V8 and buying a 2F that you rebuild and drop in wouldn’t be a big deal. A used 2F is probably 1000-2000.

I would be cautious with Sarge’s 40. It looks like a lot of rust underneath which is a real concern. Rust is a bigger problem than you may think. I would think you could find one with less rust for the same price.

I’m in Atlanta too so if you want to talk trucks more PM me. I’m always watching what’s out there. Good luck!
