Do you mean the Intake/Exhaust Manifold gaskets? Or do you mean the Carb gasket?

The I/E gasket you can get at your local Napa...ask anyone here...Felpro is the way to go with this gasket. I think it's the ONE gasket that you're better off not getting from Toyota.

If it's the Carb gasket then it comes adhered to the carb insulator plate. Do a search for both carb insulator and the other gasket to see what others say.

Go slow when doing this and I'd suggest putting bolts and nuts in seperate sandwhich bags with info on where they go.

x2 on the Felpro. When I got the felpro intake gasket it came with the gasket that goes between the intake ports and the head. Also it included the two gaskets that are used to mate the exhaust to the intake.

If you are going to take the intake all the way out, then you should also consider the donut gasket for the exhaust pipe and the flat gasket that connects the EGR pipe to the exhaust. If you are trying to fix exhaust leaks, check this first for leaks because it's a lot easier to replace just the EGR gasket than the intake/exhaust gasket.

i just found this today, its DIYautoparts.com

i was looking for gasket sets, and i found all the seals for the head on my truck, for 102, take a look

Do you know where the leaks are from ? Are you sure it's just not Vac hoses?

x3 Fel pro gasket is da shizzle. You can buy carb gaskets from SOR, MAF, dealer - napa -where ever.

Did Mark's off road do the carb rebuild ?

Are you talking about head gasket sets?

If you're gonna go aftermarket, buy the $OR one. It's the same OEM - I held a toyota HG and one from the set up and they're the same...

I wouldn't use anything but Toyota or equivalent for the HG - Doesn't pay to go cheap. SOR kit is $90 bux + shipping -- a good deal for SOR parts. And a quality set.

Contains:

EXHAUST PIPE DONUT
FUEL PUMP GASKET
HEAD GASKET
MANIFOLD GASKET
OIL PAN GASKET
OIL PAN PLUG GASKET
REAR ENGINE SEAL
THERMOSTAT GASKETS-BOTH
TIMING COVER GASKET
TIMING COVER SEAL
TIMING PLATE GASKET
SIDE COVER GASKET
VALVE COVER GASKET
VALVE COVER SEALS
VALVE STEM SEALS
WATER OUTLET GASKET
WATER PUMP GASKET

(sorry 'bout the Hi-Jack)

i use ONLY OEM gaskets. they're not cheap but they last a very long time and you won't beat the quality.

the story. i bought a 60 that i saw sitting for a long time. drove it home. tinkered with it. i removed the carb and sent it to Marks Offroad. He said there was a lot of stuff wrong with it including the wrong internal parts! The guy i bought it off said he just rebuilt the carb! Whetever. So i put the carb back on and it still does not run right. i started spraying break cleaner on everything and it seems like it has a vacuum leak EVERYWHERE. The hose to the brake booster, the break booster, the base of the carb, the intake manifold. The only time it revs right is when i put my hand over the carb and restrict the air flow, the revs are nice and crisp. no lag. all vac hoses are new.

Buy a FSM or send a PM to Gas-A-Lot or join the local club down there.

If Mark said there are wrong parts in the carb, then there were wrong parts in the carb.

You should always check for vacuum leaks before you have the carb rebuilt. There is some like 63' of vacuum lines on a 1986 FJ60 and if they are installed correctly you can replace them one at a time and solve many problems.

i know Mark did a great job. i am pissed off that the other guy even tried to rebuild it! i tested for vac. before i pulled it off, but i never heard and rise in idle. is this possible? is it because the carb is working properly now and the vac leaks are stronger? thanks in advance.
