Hey guys, Picked up a '97 80. All stock. O sorry I did throw my fridge in there and my big badd ass blue battery. LOL So now the planning starts on what to do first. I am taking donations I except PP in the form of gifts thanks :D. Looking forward to getting back out with you guys soon. The :princess: is much happier riding in that than the 60, something to do with no AC and bouncing around a lot and that smell. Not sure what that's all about.

See Ya!

Still have the 60. Will be my DD for now. Selling my Sequoia. Absolutely qualifies as an expo rig! :flipoff2:

Sorry no pics yet not really anything to look at. White stock cruiser... I know boring but have to start somewhere.....

This thred is worthless without PIC's.

Congrats

Chris

Ok , ok ok, already ill take some pics. But I warned you nothing special.

Congrats! White 80's are best. Lift first, lose the running boards, rear wing, and factory roof rack. Check for leaks from under the rear sliding widows, front and rear axle service, change the accelerator cable, PHH, blue fan clutch...I could go on and on.

Here is my boring white TLC........

nice, i love the stock wheels. as far as removing the roof rack - dont' do it until you're ready to plug the holes - when we were removing my full sized tradesman at IPOR last month, i was up there looking around and we noticed that my OEM rack holes were open and rusting.

doh, didn't think to check the PO hadn't filled them. there's no water damage in teh head liner, so may be they did something, but i'll be grinding down the rust and doing POR-15 and a top coat before putting the tradesman back on. so short version: leave it on until you can remove it properly and plug/seal all of the hardware anchorpoints.

Got news for ya, they are rusting when they are closed. Once the rubber starts to deteriorate it allows and traps moisture under the mounts. It is the nutcerts that are rusting. This eventually leaches into the paint and then the sheet metal.

Take off the rack. Clean up the rust as best you can. Use some none reactive silicon and hit them with the rattle can.

thanks for the input guys.

Ok so a little progress folks. I removed the running boards and have to say I likey a hole lot! Then I put on some 285 MT's, thanks to Ryan G! I have just recently picked up a new (to me) rear hatch. The old one is rusting around the gasket and sprayer. So the new one will go to IPOR to be painted. Also got the PHH changed and a new windshield thanks ALLstate cuz my gasket was leaking too.

Thanks! Next is a lift and the mud flaps are going away too. Plus I am looking at one of those new ARB compressors and will finally install my inverter and Blue sea fuse block too.

Vince, You da^^ right !!! :D:flipoff2:

hakalugi, regular ARB. I would love for it to go in the engine bay but I was in there last night looking for room and the only spot I see is where a second battery will go. So I am not sure I want to install it twice. So my next thought was to put it over the DS wheel well inside where the DS third row seat was. I know it will be load there but ???? then third option for me is where the spare sits now. But that is not an option until I get a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier. That might be a ways down the road.
