since the frame is a 94, i'd drop in a 1FZ. That engine on the 70 series is awesome and should be a direct install right?
That looks a bit like my old body, is there much rust in the foot wells and the wheel arch inners?
Here's a project i had seen awhile ago,
https://forum.ih8mud.com/hardcore-corner/123690-project-phoenix.html
and it involves putting the 75 body onto the 62 chassis,(really similar to your project) so maybe you can get some ideas?
It's been awhile since an update so I will give one now! I have been busy and kinda lost sight of the build almost sold it but have decided to take this build in a whole different direction. Since the frame is so bare is had thoughts of different ways of building. I am picking up a fj60 that was rear ended for 200 dollars. The axles are missing which is no big deal because I have a set. So I am going to pull the cab off and put the cab on the 60 frame since I was going to run all 60 drivetrain anyways it will work perfect. It's probably going to get a spring over haven't decided yet. Interior will go all 60 even down to the dash. And it will get a custom tray back and sit on 35 inch tires. Thoughts?
That's a good move going to the 60 chassis as you have access to a lot more bits. I have seen some 45 cabs on 60 chassis.
Most of the chassis converted 75s in Aus go onto 80 series chassis, 1 the 75s here are complete and on leafs ,and 2 for the coils but I'm sure that would be a fair bit more $$ going down that path
35s and a SOA would look boss there is plenty of tray back pics on the Aussie forums and they are not to hard to make.
