Giant starter in a tiny space....

any tips or tricks to help get this sucker out? I've sprayed the bolts with penetrant and plan on tackling this on my next say off. I seem to recall a thread mentioning removal of a bracket to help access bolts and/or make room for the removal? I cannot seem to find it or perhaps misread it.

Thanks in advance.

Just finished removing and reinstalling mine...

On top is a nut. Bottom is a bolt. Both are 17mm iirc.

Also a few electrical connections which are straightforward but depending on how it's oriented, it can be hard to see the plastic connector for a lightweight connection around the inboard side. Watch out for that one.

There is a wiring run that goes over top that I found difficult to get around until I undid the plastic retainer clip from the wheel well... Once it was freed the wire loom could move sufficiently.

Almost there. I tried all manner of turn/spin, etc. But ultimately the oil filter had to come out. Once I did that it was not super hard to get that bad boy out. As you've noticed, it's heavy, so have a good grip on it as you rotate it through the gap.

Hope this helps.
