Hzj105 glowplug light fualt

Hey all I currently own a 2004 hzj105 diesel non turbo landcruiser I am from w.a. I am haveing trouble with the glow plug light coming on whilst driving. The car starts perfectly no dramas, I have replaced the glow relay on the lefthand under bonnet, I have cleaned all earth points. There is currently a blanking plate in the EGR system aswell. Could the problem be within the emissions control unit behind the glovebox?. There is power going to the glow plugs when the light on the dash comes on whilst driving, so for the mean time I have rigged up a switch to cut power after start up. Any suggestions or previous experiences with this problem would be greatly appreciated.. Further inspection under my dash reviels evidence the vehicle may have been drowned once soon a time.
