My HZJ75 tray will be for sale as soon as you can get me a box.
Anyone want a tray with canopy and tent sides?

the FJ75 is sitting out back, it gets driven about 1000 km / year and i have done very little to it. not much to chat about really...
thanks for asking

just a fast measurement, about 4" to long of the wheel well off center,! i do not want to shorten the box so i have to start a build up of the 00hzj79 instead(perfect fit on chassis). :crybaby:
the search begins for a hzj79 drivetrain with cab guts.

Just a thought as I haven't tried it yet...get a set of rear 79 springs an put them on your 75...it will stretch the wheel base but I'm not sure exactly how much. I don't have a set laying around to measure either.

I just broke down and bought a complete 79 body from proffits. I know they wanted too much for them but I've been wanting one for a while and they had plenty.

I do need a 79 interior and a couple other things 79 related if you have access to them let me know.

i did offer to be the test pilot here, sell me the box, you build up the 79 and order a new box for that one...

wayne,
I'm most likely gonna use my box...but I'm putting the 79 cab on an 80 frame. If I get it on and get antsy I may just build a tray so I don't have to stretch the frame. Time will tell. but it sure does look pretty sitting on my shop floor. If for some reason I don't use it I will let you know. Call john or jeramiah...they may have an extra one. I remember them saying they had a couple customers who wanted 4 door cabs built. obviously that takes 2 cabs so they may have boxes left over....

hummm, thanks for the heads up.
don't expect them for free, at the same time don't expect to get bent over.
i am sure they will be fair with their pricing.
cheers

i do have access to 79's parts but i'm in need of them for my build up. if any pops up in excess, i will offer to the members. they do not come by easily, though!

did a quick measurement on the spring length for the 79 & 75 springs off the chassis mounts. the conclusion is, the 79's is about 7"-8" longer and the diff is centered approx. 4" back. it should make the box line up. i will take the actual measurement on the spring in two or three days. my question is do i shorten the back part of the spring or do i move the shackle back? other requirements will be the drive shaft will have to be stretched 4"(maybe or maybe not) and the exhaust tossed closer to the frame to clear the tires. things are starting to take shape as they should. crossing my fingers!

i had a dobinson lift sitting here, brand new. one for a 79 series and one for a 75 series, the difference was only 2" sitting on the floor.
you are saying they are 7" longer ... if i am understanding your post properly...

just curious as to the difference between your reading and the brand new lift spring difference...

when I was there picking up my body I got to talking with them about different frame choices etc... They said the 79 arb springs were 8" longer than the 75's. Move the shackle hanger don't shorten the spring. From what i gather you'll be really close to make up the difference in box length if you use the 79 springs.

oh yeah and if you find excess 79 parts put me first in line.

Gotta start turning over a few stones to find all the parts I need at a decent price.

What are the actual dimensions of the box length. Front of box to the middle of the wheel well.

I can measure it for you later today when I'm moving mine into the shop.

I know they are pretty busy at proffits keep trying they are usually pretty good at answering the phone.
