I currently have 4" SUA Skyjacker lift with a crappy shackle angle. This is what I want to do....Replace the top SJ leaf with a FJ60 rear top leaf. This should give me a heck of alot better shackle angle and extend my wheelbase a couple of inches. I figure I would have to the driveshaft lengthened and redo the upper shock mounts. Anyone see why this wouldn't work?

are these springs new?
there are countless threads associated w/new springs and shackle angles...

so your thinking of replacing the 4" lift top leaf w/an stock (0 lift) fj60 top leaf?
you might have to replace the top TWO springs, as I believe on a 60 they sorta go together.

I would imagine you would loose some lift...

It might be easier to move your rear shackle hanger forward.

post some pics :D

Seems a reasonable plan but only if you have good 60 main and military wrap leafs (top two).

Search 60 rear spring swaps since that is basically what you're doing. Lots of info how to make it work.

I'm pretty sure the 60 spring eye will not fit in an early 40 spring hanger. Because of the larger bushing the mil-wrap is too large and drags against the frame. This is why aftermarket spring makers don't put mil-wraps on 40 springs with the large bushing....yes even ARB uses a 1/4 wrap
