Hurricane Damage My '02 LC was submerged up to the dashboard in salt water for about 2 hours due to Sandy. GEICO has yet to arrive (fortunately I have comprehensive insurance.) Is there any hope or should I start looking for a new 100 now?

Yes I lost a 80 too...

Salt water - yeah, it's toast.

Rule of thumb is if salt water breaches the interior it's done. Fresh water can be salvaged as long as it doesn't get to the dash.

Start looking for a new 100.

I know of a few trucks from the Gulf Coast that were saved after Katrina but they were all older. No way I'd try to keep a modern car after submerged in salt water for any time.

Sorry to hear about your LC. Not good for anyone.

The only high side to this is now you can find an 03+ with the newer 5-speed transmission.

As said above salt water will corode everything....

I'd so love to find one that got hit by a tree in the rear as a 2 door 100 just turns me on....

Stuff some Slee bumpers and Smittybilt nerf bars on it.......you know it's cool..

Or buy my California truck :)

In all seriousness I'm sorry to hear about your vehicles. I can't even imagine how it must be to rebuild your life too.
