Just saw that there are wildfires around Hot Springs NC. News article stated that the area was very dry.

Air pollution advisory issued for Thu-Fri due to smoke from Hot Springs fire

Check out road closings.

Maybe all will be done by next week.

I talked to the Ranger office yesterday, a lot of the campgrounds where close due to fire. We may need to head westward. "Wagons, hoooo"

Regarding the closures, I'm cool with wherever we end up as long as the roads are interesting.

It looks like there a big'ol weather event heading in with a few days of rain, so as long as lightening does burn the mountains down, the fire risk might be diminished a bit
