Birf help

new2mud:
You might want to check with Slee Off Road:

http://www.sleeoffroad.com/newbie/newbie100.htm

Robbie can do this for u in about 9 hrs. Don't forget the rear bearings, they need to repacked while you are doing the birfield job.

Slee is in Golden, CO - might be worth a look see.

dfm,

Thanks for the heads up on Slee.

For the longest while I thought I would have somebody do it, but reading up on the posts, and after watching Jim's DVD I believe it is something I can do myself. I think the combination of confidence-building and cost savings makes it something I should NOT shy away from. lol.

The rear lock nut SST and hub socket are on the way. Be sure to let us know how it goes, and post here real-time if you run into any issues.

Never did ask...do you have an FSM?

Be sure to stock up on brake cleaner and those nice heavy blue shop towels at Wal-Mart!

Bought out the last few cans of brake cleaner WM had, will go back in to see if they've restocked today!

I do have the FSM...will be tackling the job within the next couple of weeks, time permitting.

Thanks to Tim for the loaner tools!
