I do not get it. But I do not understand many things...
Mount them on your living room wall.
Looks like an 03 LC, sans Nav that allowed for the install of an aftermarket Double DIN head unit.

Why Toyota went away from the simplicity, speed, functionality and total beauty of the three-knob HVAC controls is beyond me..
As to the non-nav option, enjoy! It is nice to be able to choose your system. I used to want this, but after owning an '04 OEM Nav system for a while, it's OK.

For some strange reason when I was searching Autotrader 3-4 years ago, it seemed that almost every one of the rare (!) non-nav LC's that showed up were gray, and most were '05's. 
LOL, my daughters 02 4R has one of those simple HVAC units, faulty soldier joints that needed re-soldiering to make it function correctly in the cold.

I just got the 90k service done by Torfab. It feels like new.
If you have a unicorn you probably should give it to Chuck b4 he gives a roundhouse to your head.
This beauty was at my buddy's dealership a while back. I think about it often and hope it went to a good home! It was very clean!!
