Sorry, I searched and couldn't find a definitive answer.

I'm looking to remove and reinstall the Lexus logo badge (the oval one) from the rear hatch of my LX450. I know there are two centering nubs on the back. But, is there also adhesive? What's the best way to remove this badge without damaging it -- and how about reinstalling it?

Maybe there is a pot metal stud going through a hole, retained on the inside surface with a sheet metal nut?
If you take off the inside panel and reach up there, feel around?

Yes there is adhesive. Spray around it with wd40, or the like, and let the adhesive soak for a bit. The WD will break it down. Then take some fishing line behind the emblem and start "sawing" through the adhesive.

I've in the past used a heat gun on LOW for a few minutes to soften the adhesive and then floss or fishing line in a sawing motion to cut the adhesive. Be gentle or you'll break it off.

^^^ What he said. Also the two nubs have a rubber grommet around them to seal the hole in the body. There is not a nut on the back of the nubs. It is held on by the adhesive and the rubber grommets on the nubs.

Yes, add a little heat and they will come right out with fishing line
