I am trying to remove my shift indicator panel on my 96', but first you have to remove the shifter. I removed the two screws on the fwd face of the shifter, removed the console, but there is a cable I believe to the OD switch or something. How do I get the shifter off to replace the shift indicator panel? Can anyone help?

Well if you look the O/D switch has a connector at the bottom of the shifter. However, this will not fit up the shaft of the shifter. You can just pull the pin out of the connector and it will easly fit up the shaft and it's not that bad putting it back in. Now I'm doing this from memory but I do know I had to pull the wire out of the connector. If you have a FSM they have instructions how to pull the pins out of each type of connector.

Thanks! I will give that a shot...
