Just got a new to me LX570 and I'm in the process of popping in some new led bulbs. I've tried searching through the forum on details on how to remove the cover on the puddle lights, but I've only seen some comments like "pull hard". And I havent seen anything at all on how to remove the running board lights.

Is there a write up that I've missed on how to get to these? Thanks!

I no longer have my running boards, but I remember you have to look from below the running board for access. You don't remove the covers. They pull out like most bulbs, twist and pull.

Thanks! I'll take a look... I was feeling under there and trying to see which way to turn but didnt want to take a chance of breaking something till I asked around first.

Are you referring to the lights in the lower part of the mirror, or the lights on the lower part of the doors?

I think the mirrors have to be taken apart. The ones on the insides of the doors pop out very easily. There is a slight compression clip molded on one side. I think you pry from the side that's the most inside, but if you pry and it looks like it's hung up on the door, then pry from the other side. It will pop right out. I have a 2010 LX. I'm not sure if the puddle lights changes with later models.

I was referring to the ones in the insides of the doors. I was trying to remove the by just pulling on the bottom edge of it, but it seems pretty set in there. I was going to use some trim removal tools, but there isnt much room to get any purchase with them.

I'll try again this weekend... and by "side that's the most inside", I take it that you mean the "top" of the light? Vs the "bottom" which is the side that is closer to the ground.

thanks!

No, I mean from the sides, Of the four edges there is only one way to pry that makes it pop out easily. It is one of the vertical sides, and by inside I mean, the vertical edge closest to the truck body.

Ahhh... ok, I didnt try that angle, it looked like it was supposed to come out from the other direction.

I'll try it out later, thanks again!

Thats awesome, thanks for the pics, it makes total sense now.

I was picturing that the clear plastic brackets holding the light were the clips holding the cover in which is why I was trying to pull from the other angle.

I know what you mean. And the best part is, on some of the interior lenses, the bracket parts you can see through the lens are where you pry from. I just did the LED kit that @FullyLitLED is selling. So I've taken them all off now. If you don't have one of those little pick sets like the one I pictured, I highly recommend. Can't believe how long I've been taking apart electrical connectors and trying to remove tiny clips without them.

I've got a pick set, they are super useful. For any kind of interior car parts I try to use my plastic tools first because I'm the guy that tends to snap parts off because I'll think "maybe if I just pull a little bit harder... *crack*". But now that I see how it's put together, I'm not worried about using the picks.

Cant thank you enough for the pictures, everything just makes sense now.
