I second those clamp pliers! Made the job much easier.Step ladder and some blankets on the engine. Kinda just have to get in the engine bay a bit.
Specialty tools help also. I used these. Made it easier.

I’m 6’3” and did the same. It’s a long way back there. Plus I replaced all the heater hoses so had to get to the firewallI'm short (5'6") and my truck is lifted. I used a short ladder to climb onto the ARB and just layed on a moving blanket. Worked great, staged tools and the new T's and removed the cover first.
