So I got a nice set of seats for the Cruiser today. I assumed I could fab up a bracket of some sort to attach the new seats to the stock mounts. However, after scratching my head for A LONG time I cannot find a way to mount these suckers.

Anyone want to come over and help me get these things attached? There'll be free beer.

Here is the stock mounting points. The front two mounts are horizontal and the rear two are vertical.

And here are a couple pictures of the new seats mounting bracketry (sans the seat of course). The mounting points are about 2.75" wider side to side.

Thanks for any ideas. I'm stumped.

I mounted Recaros from a VW golf by using the original sliders and adapting the seats to the sliders with some aluminum stock

How about a piece of bar stock or angle iron going sideways across the back mounts. You could bolt it to the stock mounts and then have holes just outside the stock mounts that the seat could bolt to. Same thing on the front, if need be. I can't see it as well.

Scotty, thanks for the offer! This rig probably won't be mobile for another couple of months. That really makes it quite a hassle.

I appreciate the input from you guys. I have the tools to make this work (welder, grinder, etc) but all of the bracket ideas I had were putting the seat up WAY high. I'm going to throw some more ideas around.

I know I've seen a guy that put Camry seats in a Cruiser before. I'm going to have to go picture surfing!

Thanks for the link Dynosoar. His pics helped alot! I end up cutting out the stock mounting points and just start from scratch.

Sucks I sold my welder a few months back to move out to CO.

I think that there are plenty of guys in the Rising Sun 4x4 club that could help you out with a welder. Get over on there board and ask. They are some good guys.
