How to lock a Hi-Lift to a Slee bumper?

As anyone figured out a simple way to do this?
I want to lock my jack in place on the bumper so I can leave it mounted on the truck in urban areas. Considering drilling a hole through the mounting screw to run a tiny padlock through it, a la Loc Rac style. Are there better options out there?

Cable lock, or don't worry about it.

X2 on not worrying about it. If someone wants it bad enough to open the tire carrier and unbolt the jack they can have it IMO. If you live in South Compton than maybe you have a point on locking it.

But it would be easy enough to drill a hole through the base plate on the bumper and put a lock on through the base plate on the jack (I know that's a removable part of the jack). It would add an extra deterrent and an extra annoyance for when you need to use the jack.

What if he lives in Aurora?

I am interested in this as well. Washington DC is an urban area where a knucklehead has no use for a Hi-lift, might not even know what it is, but would take it for grins and giggles if not tied down somehow. Gotta be some good ideas out there that would protect them from casual thieves and fools.:hhmm:

Unfortunately I DO need to worry about this, otherwise I would not have posted this question. (duh)
It live in Washington DC now, but we are moving to a high crime city in Africa in a few months and the street bastards will steal anything and everything they can pry off your truck. If they are willing to pry the mirror glass out of your side mirrors, imagine the lengths they will to to to get your Hi-Lift. I don't think anyone would try to steal my jack where I live in the US.

HD cable lock, big fat one, that barely fits through jack holes, and long enough to wrap around tire also.

Ok, I understand now. I saw district 9 too.

Te Slee carrier has a tab on it for a lock. Replace the Clevis pin with a difficult to remove nut/bolt and lock the base plate to the rack. Cleaner looking than the cable lock method.

Nice!
That is very helpful indeed.
And District 9 is appropriate...
