One more vote for the 12pt socket method!! I've used that a few times over the years and I've yet to ruin a wheel or socket.

Just chisle it out. If you're careful, you wont destroy anything more than the nut. Most tool boxes have a chisle and a hammer.

i've heard of people having luck just by tightening the other nuts up and then being able to loosen the locking nut with vise grips/pipe wrench etc
