I was wondering if anyone has been successful getting rid of their OEM bumpers after installing offroad models. Mine have been sitting in the garage for over a year and I could use the room.

Any thoughts: Ebay, salvage, private sale?

Thanks

You could try selling them to cruiserparts.net. That's were I 'sold' my front OEM. Sold the rear here on mud.

I sold my rear bumper wings in two days here on mud, asked $20 per piece.

Also sold the good front bumper wing here. The rest of my front bumper wasn't worth shipping, so it's going to the recyclers.

If your bumpers are in good shape and you are realistic about your pricing- you can easily sell them.

sell them on craigslist. i have made a small fortune selling parts and cars/trucks on there. it has paid for a lot of my cars in my sig

I had two serious potential buyers from my front bumper ads on Craigslist asking $350 for it (I was on the fence of getting an ARB). Just when I started removing it from the truck the wife gave me hell so I had to cancel the deal (long story...)

I'd say try Craigslist or Ebay first before throwing it in the dumpster - someone might need it.

Frank.

cruiserparts.net WILL buy your parts. Here is a generic price list they gave me in the past week for my 97 parts;

We would be interested in these items:
Stock bumper front = $100
Rear bumper ends = $50 each
My side steps = $100 for the set with end caps
smittybilt front pushbar/brushguard = $100
rear corner light protectors = $50 set
Tow package = $100

We pay for them + shipping costs on our account. You would just need to wrap the items in cardboard.

They told me that the shipping will be charged to their UPS account.

Go to their website and call em up. It's too easy not to do.

Hmm. Today they stated on the phone that they are NOT buying FJ80 parts. Where are you located and how did you ask?

Just emailed them a week ago, and got a reply by email. Weird. I even emailed them with some more questions and they answered all of them and even gave me a contact # and someone to call back.

I'll call em and let you know what I find out...

I suppose that I asked a somewhat more generic question: "Do you buy any 80-series cruiser parts?" I will try emailing them next, I guess, since getting rid of some of the rear bumper pieces would be convenient.
