All, my 3rd row seats in my 1999 LC do not fold up nice and straight like this in this post

When you fold them up to have access to cargo space they are at a 70 degree angle (not a right angle) toi the floor where above they look like they are at a true 90 degree angle with the floor.
They hit the wheel well and I can tell they are tight against the wheel well from the sound of the seat pushing on the wheel well.

Are there differences in models? I have a 1999 LC.... Could the 3rd row seats I have be from a different model?

Thanks!

in order to get them to sit at a 90 degree angle you need to slide then back a bit so the will clear the wheel wells. I hope this helps.

Yup, pull plastic latch handle at the rear of the sliding track upward and slide them rearward then use the strap to hold them up.

I never knew this, too bad they can't slide back while down for more leg room

There is a metal connecting rod that goes into backside of the handle with a plastic retainer. One of mine is missing the retainer and the handle won't release the seat to slide back until I put the rod in the hole on the back of the handle.

Hopefully, you can see those rods and just need a couple plastic clips for the fix.

Oh wow, this is great. I tried this procedure this AM and now the seats are at a right angle. Thank YOU!

Rear seats store very well in my basement hanging from the floor joists.

Haha, wish I could do that.....
