Hello all, I thjnk I’ve finally found a remedy to why my 1VDJ 78r troopy has been using excessive amounts of fuel and smoking a fair bit under load and I believe it is the MAF sensor as the previous owner had a K&N oiled filter and has over oiled it. I think I know where the MAF sensor is but could someone confirm it for me? Also, what is the best/safest way to clean it. Cheers!

There are aerosol spray cleaners like high tech, no residue brake cleaner.
If it is very bad, carb and choke cleaner first then the other spray.

Personally I never use brake or Carb cleaner around electronics, those can damage seals and melt some components; I've used the CRC MAF cleaner mentioned above with good results.

Sweet, cheers mate. What's the best way to clean it? Use a q-tip covered in it or just spray it in there? Sorry for all the questions but I'm not very mechanically minded.

Yes just spray the crap out of it.
On my old F150 this cleaning spray helped.
On my Maxda 3, no detectable change.
