On a CT 26, I have the stock Supra Waste gate actuator mounted (see post today in this section)...am I correct in assuming you can adjust the boost, by setting the preload of the actuator? I'm thinking of splitting the actuator arm, threading the ends, then using a turnbuckle style affair to effectively lengthen or shorten the rod, changing the preload...

am I way off base here??

Thanks guys, didn't realize that was all there was to it...

I just went and bought one off of Ebay for around $20...at that price, why bother making my own? The one I bought has the right kind of spring that will hold up to the heat. If you want to get fancy, you can pick one up with the adjustable boost control inside the cab...they usually sell for around $40.

ohhhh I think I want to be fancy.....

You're right on track.
Changing the arm length changes the preload which keeps wastegate creep at bay as well as letting you reduce boost as well as increase it.

KISS, exactly, this is a much simpler and more reliable setup than a boost controller. In-cab boost adjustment is best done via the right foot.
