There is a thread on programming in the Electrical section of the forum FAQs. I found it easier and faster to just pay the dealer $80 to program all 4 of my keys; 3 masters and 1 sub.
I don't know what the advantage of programming a sub key is with these trucks, all it does is not allow the key to enter the programming sequence to program more keys.
Did you read Post #4 of this thread?
How many people is your truck at risk from getting in it with a cut key that's not programmed that know the steps to program it and need to and have a master key?
Well now that we have the full picture and your MY, if you'll read it again, 03/04 you're likely headed to the dealership. And approval has nothing to do with my post, I'm just pointing out that a valet key has very little practical use. But you go girl.

Didn't know the MY of truck, but now that we do, 03/04 uses a different transponder that requires dealer programming.
Curious where you found these instructions? Everywhere I've seen online (and here) says either you're taking a trip to the dealer or it's insert key 5 times, door 6 times. The 7 and 4 are new.
