Does anybody here know how to access the reversing lights that flank the license plate on an 06 lx (not sure how these setups differ from year to year.) I wasn't sure if I should just try to yank at the covers to see if they come off, or if I needed to access them from inside the tailgate somehow.

Any thoughts?

I thought I saw something about the lens housing coming out, and not accessing it from within the tailgate like the older trucks. I just flipped thru the manual and didnt see anything though.

I know you want to remove them, but for anyone else who might be interested, they're the smaller 921 wedge base bulb not the 7440 bulbs of the earlier LXs and the LCs.

I actually ordered some 921 crew led's for them. Im hoping that they will be more "directional" in their light and thus reduce the glare I get on the back up camera.

I'll keep on exploring to see how to get them off...

Thanks

Hey Sonk doesn't your tire block the lights anyway???? How did the camera move turn out??

The tire blocks one of the two reversing lights, so I figured that I would still get the benefit of the other (I'm also installing a rigid Dually D2 reversing light for some additional visibility.)

The camera relocation worked out well (I didn't move it to the tire carrier, but rather just towards the drivers side by about a foot.) See more detail at:

thanks for the link not to hijack your tread but how is your locker working out and how (plus who did it) is it holding up?? Im in cherry hill nj and need to do the upgrade and looking for a possible shop close by.

What does this mean? I don't get it.

They sell HID kits and everything The Retrofit Source LLC (where I work) sells minus projectors and OE parts... Nothing to most, but I laughed a little.

I would go for those, they look pretty nice. If they are similar to Paul's reverse lights you won't be disappointed.

Got it. :) I had to re-read those names a couple of times to see the difference!

You have a habit of doing that. I ended up leaving mine off, then did a diamond plate and now cutting board
