There has always been debate on here as to exactly what the differences are between the 2UZ-FE engines. Wikipedia has limited info here: Toyota UZ engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Someone "in the know" should provide more detail on this subject. I've done a lot of reading / searching in the past specifically about differences in the Tundra and LC 2UZ-FE's. Much of that is also debated on here.

The main difference is that the connecting rods in the US variant are cast as opposed to forged in Japan. That along with better assembly, manufacturing, and general quality control make the Japan one better.

The US version threw rods with the SC, the Japanese ones did not.
