I'm thinking about selling my truck. It’s a 1997 FZJ80 Collectors Edition. Black with tan leather. 75K miles. Everything runs like it should. IT does need brakes. No body damage. Straight low mileage truck with factory lockers. What’s it worth? Oh yeah new almost new Michelins.

complete guess: 14K in California?

Do the brakes and I'd guess in the high $12K range, but then again I don't know. The bottom looks like its starting to fall out on the value of an 80 series. When I was in the market there weren't hardly any 80's under $7K and if there were they were nearly all FJ80's. Now there are quite a few more in that range, and many more FZJ's in there.

Maintenance doesn't "add" value, it only holds it where it is, so don't tack on any extra for brakes, tires, etc.

I am assuming you mean it need brake pads.
Fix them before selling, it just to easy.
Then you have nothing wrong, at all.
14-15k to the right buyer

The front needs rotors and pads for sure. The back probally just needs pads. So you think I would get more money in the long run if I fix the brakes before I sell it. Brakes and rotors aren't cheap. Dunno?

dont fix the brakes. you wont make up the $ for what you put out, even just for parts. besides, its up to the buyer to have an inspection done to tell you that the brakes need replacement. if i was looking, id offer 13.5K

$754.84

I'll come down to pick it up later this evening

I would say, real money to the right buyer right in the $13 range give or take $500 although I'd pass and look for one with 120k for $9,000 if I could... Now I'm giving you the I don't need the money or mind taking 3 months to sell it price..

here we go again...

This topic always seems to get people goin'... well, not yet it seems... a 13k price in my region PA/MD/DE/NJ would be superb... especially with lockers... but theres always someone who get'em for next to nothing... I'd list @ 15K & work from there if it's really clean...but that's just me... If I were gettin one right now...I wouldn't even hagle with that price... but that's just me I guess...

I started a Lawn Care biz. in Central Florida. The LC just isn't the best for what I use her for. The amount of driving I do now tripled and the lack of a truck bed hurts durring my cutting days. Just bought a 02' F150 for a work truck and the LC is just gonna sit alot. Might as well sell it. I will buy another one later I hope. When I bought the car it was a 1 owner all the service records were tracked down and was serviced at the local Toyota dealer. I'll post pics tomorow if I can. Really don't want to sell it so I will take my time and get the best price I can.

Can you please post pictures here? Thanks.

Sucks you're selling it if you really don't want to. Haven't you only had it like 4 months? I've been constipated longer than that... keep the wagon a little longer and you won't regret it. You've got one of the last 80's to ever be imported into the US... that's so cool...
