How much have GXs increased in price?

I test drove a 2019 GX premium today with 31K miles. Perfect dealer service history. Mint condition. Dealer is asking $43.5K.

I’m wondering what similar vehicles were selling for one or two years ago. Just trying to get an idea of how much inflation has affected their pricing and if I should wait it out for pricing to come back down to earth.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

That kinda seems reasonable.
I’m in the 470 world though so I’m certainly not up on current 460 values.

I agree that the price seems decent in this market. I’m curious how it roughly compares to say a similar GX 1 or 2 years ago. For example, did a 2018 a year ago cost about the same?

1 or 2 years ago that SUV was close to $60k new. Just buy what you want. Prices currently aren't as stupid high as they were a year ago. $41k isn't bad. Think of it this way; A year ago, a 2018 30-40k mile 4runner would still sell for very close to MSRP on a new 2021 model. That Lexus isn't even close to MSRP, is the same price and is way nicer than a 4Runner.

Good feedback. That’s pretty much how I’m viewing it, as well. I wasn’t looking for a GX 1 year ago so I’m just looking for some context.

I have a 21 460 I am selling back to the dealer for $63k as I found my Nori Blackline 22. The packages matter too. Luxury still draws bigger dollars than premium and base. The price on 460s drops off around 2014. 2010-2013 can be found cheaper, then 14-17 are mid, and 18-21 are up there. It's a pretty normal depreciation schedule across time, but the overall values have held pretty solid on 460s and only bumped a bit during covid. 470s went for a WAY wilder ride. They are very expensive now compared to then.

Great intel. Thanks!

It's not just inflation, there's also a bubble for vehicle prices because of supply. Given the circumstances that's not a bad price for a 2019 with low miles.

In 2020, I was shopping GX's with less than 40k miles and the 2017s (3 years old at the time) were mostly in the $35-39,000 range. Last month my local Lexus dealer offered me $40k for my 2017 which now has 58k miles and a bunch of mods.

I appreciate the additional feedback with solid numbers to back it up. I should have also mentioned that the 2019 GX I was looking at was dealer-serviced in FL every 5K miles and spotless inside and outside, including underneath - even more reason it seems that this is a decent deal.

It is probably a lease return. The 3 year old lease return is kind of the sweet spot for age/mileage/price because there are a lot of them, and you can be reasonable certain they're dealer maintained and not modified.
