I'm going to pickup a FJ62 tomorrow and was just wondering how much a stock one weighs. I have picked up a bunch of 40's before with my dads truck, but just was curious how much of a weight difference there is between the FJ62 and FJ40. Don't have any manuals here that at my shop. Thanks guys

You're both off by about a thousand pounds. My 60 weighs about 4600 with a half tank of gas, and me in it (and I'm about 270 pounds). The FJ62 is only like 100 more, with the auto transmission and EFI stuff.

Of course, a winch/bigger tires/bumpers/armor could easily add up to 1000 lbs, so 5500 wouldn't be a bad guess for the average built FJ60/62.

EDIT: I looked up the stock curb weight. 4246 lbs, which, plus 270lbs of me, and 10 gallons of gas, adds up to about 4600.

Stock curb weight for an FJ40 is 3263 lbs, so about a thousand lighter.

.

My 60 weighs in at about 4800 pounds and my 40 comes in at 4300 pounds. Both weighed with about the same amount of gear and half a tank of gas.

Per CAT scales my 1989 62 weighed in at 4580 lbs with:1/2 tank of gas; yakima load bars/towers (4) (maybe 70lbs); No Passengers; 33x10.5x15 MTs; Spare tire removed

Can't remember exactly from several years ago, but mine was around 4600+ lbs without me in it. That's stock, more or less, with 31" tires, full sized spare underneath, and trailer hitch.
Edit: Curb weight, from TLC website, is listed as 4480 lbs.

Scale at our local dump says 4300 w/o me in it. I can't recall how much gas was in it at the time. I have 31x10.5's and other than there is not much as far as weight adding mods. She may have lost a few pounds over the years due to her salty road diet...
