If you guys are still reading this thread...thanks. That gives me something to think about. Maybe I'll list if the dream price and if someone wants to pay it...great. If not, I get to keep her!!!!!

I bought my 60 for way too much in feb(6k) ended up with a bad motor, but rust free body- Seeing what they are doing now makes me wish I waited a bit also, but what the hell, whats done is done.

I paid a lot more for mine last summer as well. With due diligence, I should have paid around about 2K less, but I got a little impatient and frankly, it was so much better than anything else I'd seen in the prior 2-3 years I looked.

Everyone here is cheap. Try a super-premium listing on autotrader with lots of pictures, service records, etc, and see what kind of interest you get.

It seems the basic formula for selling price is add up your purchase price plus the cost for all maintenance, upgrades, aftermarket equipment, etc, and divide it in half. That's what you're likely to sell it for, unless you're very patient or the right person comes along.

I definitely would not include maintenance in that equation.

It seems to me if somebody is going to pay $10k for a landcruiser, it has to be, by far, the best one they ever saw and they get a warm fuzzy about the maintenance. Very clean (as opposed to perfect) landcruisers are still quite common. A year ago, I would say a very clean landcruiser would fetch about $5k. In this economy and with gas prices where they are - I am starting to think even a very clean landcruiser would only fetch $3-4K. That Ebay listing is a prime example.

You may want to post some pics - that would give us a better idea. But I think you can see where we think the market is. Good luck. Like you said, no harm in trying.
