i am sorry i didnt mention it in the first post but, no i meant ATF because when removing the Radiator, Red oil came out from the bottom of the Radiator.I assume you mean Anti-freeze, because ATF fluid is generally the abbreviation for Automatic Transmission Fluid. Here is out of the manual for the '99 repair manual This is not specific to the capacity of the radiator, but rather the whole system. When I have replaced it in the past, it usually takes about 2-3 heat cycles to confirm your fluid is at the right level after bleeding the system. It is strongly recommended that you use only Toyota "Red" aka "Toyota Long life coolant", which you can buy premixed, or concentrated, and mix with distilled water per instructions.
Capacity: w/ Front heater: 14.8 liters (15.6 US qts, 13.0 Imp. qts) w/ Front heater and rear heater: 15.3 liters (16.2 US qts, 13.4 Imp. qts)
Use ”Toyota Long Life Coolant” or equivalent and mix it with plain water according to the manufacturer’s directions. Use of the coolant which includes more than 50% [freezing protection down to -35°C (-31°F)] or 60% [freezing protection down to -50°C (-58°F)} of ethylene-glycol is recommended, but not more than 70%. NOTICE: Do not use an alcohol type coolant or plain water alone. The coolant should be mixed with plain water (preferably demineralized water or distilled water).
- (a) Slowly fill the system with coolant. Use of improper coolants may damage engine cooling system
- (b) Install the radiator cap.
- (c) Bleed the cooling system.
- (1) Start the engine, and open the heater water valve.
- (2) Maintain the engine speed at 2,000 - 2,500 rpm, and warm up the engine.
- (d) Stop the engine, and wait until the engine coolant cools down.
- (e) Refill coolant into the reservoir until it is ”FULL”.
- (4) Start the engine and shift the shift lever into all positions from P to L position and then shift into P position.
- (5) With the engine idling, check the fluid level. Add fluid up to the COOL level on the dipstick.
- (6) Check the fluid level at the normal operating temperature, 70 - 80 °C (158 - 176 °F), and add as necessary.
